PRESS RELEASE FROM ALISTAIR STRATHERN MP
THURSDAY 9TH OCTOBER 2025
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Alistair Strathern, MP for the Hitchin constituency, has launched his annual Christmas Card Competition, inviting children aged up to 12 from schools across Hitchin, Stotfold, Shefford, Arlesey and surrounding villages to design his official Christmas card for 2025.
The winning design will be used as Strathern’s official parliamentary Christmas card, sent to community leaders, local organisations, and fellow MPs. The winner will also receive a special prize.
The competition is open to all children aged up to 12, and the deadline for entries is 5pm on Friday 7 November 2025.
How to enter:
Children can send their entries by post to Alistair Strathern MP, 8–9 Bridge Street, Hitchin, SG5 2DE
Alternatively, schools can email alistair.strathern.mp@parliament.uk to arrange for a member of Strathern’s team to collect entries directly, or send scanned electronic versions to the same address.
Each entry must include the child’s name, age, class, school, and a parent or teacher’s email address written on the back, so that Strathern can contact the winner.
Alistair Strathern MP said:
“It is always great to see the creativity, talent and imagination of our local children.
“Whether it’s snowmen in Hitchin Market Square, festive trains at Arlesey Station, or Christmas trees in Shefford, I know there will be a range of great entries.
“Good luck to everyone taking part. I can’t wait to see your designs!”
