The parliamentary map has changed drastically here in Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire at this election.

Our new Hitchin constituency has lost Harpenden, and includes some towns and villages in Bedfordshire like Shefford, Arlesey and Stotfold.

All of the polls say it's Labour.


All of the independent, trusted polling experts say it will be a close race between Labour and the Conservatives in our new Hitchin constituency, with other parties trailing far behind. We've included links to all of our sources, so you can check it out for yourself.



Labour are winning here.


In October, Alistair Strathern made history, beating all the odds to become Labour's first MP for the old Mid Bedfordshire constituency.

In the local elections in May, Labour became the largest party on North Herts Council, winning the highest vote share in Hitchin with 33% of the vote.
