PRESS RELEASE FROM ALISTAIR STRATHERN MP

FRIDAY 10th APRIL 2026

North Hertfordshire College has been awarded £750,000 in funding to support significant upgrades across its campuses, ensuring that students continue to learn in modern, safe and high‑quality environments.

The investment forms part of a wider national programme to improve facilities at further education colleges across England. For North Hertfordshire College, the funding will support essential maintenance and refurbishment works designed to future‑proof key teaching spaces and specialist learning areas.

The College delivers a wide range of academic, technical and vocational courses to young people. This investment will help ensure that workshops, classrooms and specialist facilities remain fit for purpose.

The College will publish further details about the specific projects and timelines once planning work is completed over the coming months.

The investment is expected to benefit thousands of learners across North Hertfordshire and the surrounding area, ensuring they have access to facilities that support their ambitions and meet the needs of local employers.

Alistair Strathern MP welcomed the announcement, saying:

“Young people and adult learners at North Hertfordshire College deserve the very best facilities to support their education and future careers.

“This funding will enable the College to carry out important upgrades that will make a real difference to the learning experience.

“Ensuring that our local college has modern, high‑quality spaces is vital for students, staff and the wider community.”
