Alistair Strathern, MP for the Hitchin constituency, after visiting the Hitchin-based CIC ‘A Lil Something’ has backed their campaign to move into a larger premises.
A Lil Something supply key baby essential items likes prams and baby bouncers to financially-struggling families. Set up by former midwives, they have helped countless local families in challenging circumstances. However, they currently operate out of a garage they rent on Grammar School Walk, Hitchin. They are looking to find a bigger facility, as their unit is full and has no working lights.
A Lil Something have received fantastic support from people across Hitchin, with donations from families their biggest fundraising tool, but they are seeking more donations to expand.
Strathern is urging any local premises owner who might be able to help out to get in touch with the charity and support their aims to reach even more new families across Hitchin.
They are holding a fundraising Quiz Night at The Highlands Pub on the 27thNovember at 7pm.
Alistair Strathern MP said:
“The team at A Lil Something do invaluable work for so many families in Hitchin. They are community heroes.
“They deserve all of our help and support with funding to move to a bigger premises.
“I encourage everyone to donate what you can to this great cause, and if you are a local landlord or premises owner who can help them out, please do get in touch!’
