Alistair Strathern MP champions local farm Browns of Stagsden to win a Rural Oscar

PRESS RELEASE FROM ALISTAIR STRATHERN MP

MONDAY 25 MARCH 2024

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Alistair Strathern MP is delighted to support local farm Browns of Stagsden for a Countryside Alliance Award.

Mr Strathern visited Browns of Stagsden, a farm and farm shop west of Bedford, last year. The farm is now in the running for an East of England Regional title, in the Butcher category. Browns has been shortlisted ahead of thousands of other nominees.

The Awards are the Countryside Alliance’s annual celebration of British food & farming, enterprise and heritage. The Rural Oscars are now in their seventeenth year and have become the definitive rural business award to win.

They are set apart from other award schemes because they are driven by public nomination, offering customers the chance to single out their favourite businesses for national acclaim.

Alistair Strathern MP said:

“The Countryside Alliance Awards celebrate those businesses that go the extra mile and are the cornerstone of our rural communities. Browns of Stagsden has shown that by reaching the regional finals, which is testament to the hard work and service it provides to the community.

“I will be following its progress with pride and will be championing its success. Browns is a fantastic part of the Stagsden and Bedfordshire community, offering brilliant service and a hub for high-quality local food.”
